Cait Levin completed her BA at Barnard College and her MA at Middlebury. After an initial career in education, she worked as a project manager and community manager for She Writes Press and Shewrites.com, an online community for women, by women. Since leaving teaching and pivoting to tech, she has served as Head of Learning at Fiveable and Community Educator at Commsor. You can find her on twitter @caitlevin.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who wants to learn more about what we mean when we refer to a capital "C" community. Whether you're totally new to community or have heard a bit about it but want to understand more, this course will give you a deep dive into the difference layers of community, the differences between audience and community, and what makes a community different than, say, social media followers or customers. 

What is the time commitment?

We anticipate this course will take up to two hours to work through. There are additional resources within the course (like podcasts, webinar recordings, and personal reflections) that are optional and might take more time. How much time you spend on those activities is up to you!

What is the format of the course?

This is a self-paced, asynchronous course designed to be flexible for you. The format includes video, audio, long form writing, reflection activities, and more.

All videos within the course include closed captioning, as well as full, interactive transcripts. All resources are in English.
